Today – “feet that are quick to rush into evil.”
O be careful little feet where you go, O be careful little feet where you go….. We were singing truth weren’t we when we learned that chorus and sang it in Sunday School?
Quite a study could be made of “the feet” of the Bible. e.g. Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus; Jesus washing the disciples feet; The “sinful” woman who washed the feet of Jesus…., etc.
But the focus of this proverb indicates the LORD hates feet that are quick to rush into evil.
Our “feet” should be beautiful in bringing good news to others. (As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” Romans 10:15 citing Isaiah 52:7.
Our “feet” should be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:15)
Today let us sit at the feet of Jesus – the Lord of heaven and earth under whose feet God has placed all things. (Ephesians 1:22). Let us allow God’s word to be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Let us not be quick to rush into evil but rather may we be those who are pure in heart, whose feet are guided into the path of peace.
