Is it just me but doesn’t it seem a little “self-serving” for Saddleback Church to post the video of their pastor, Rick Warren, praying at the inauguration?

Is this what the “Youtube” podcast world has become for the evangelical church?    I must confess to being a little perplexed.

Are the prayers we pray prayed God-ward or man-ward?   Are we more concerned about how they “sound” than the condition of our hearts before our all-knowing Father?

Jesus did speak about a man praying about himself didn’t He?   The prayer of the Pharisee stood out in sharp contrast with the convicted, poverty-in-spirit publican who wouldn’t lift up his eyes to heaven but simply smote himself upon his breast, crying, “God, be merciful to me a sinner!”
