The back to school flyers are filling our mailbox and inbox these days. The latest and greatest tools to help students get launched for the 2007-2008 school year. Personally, I enjoy seeing what’s available but my wife has flashbacks to the challenges that school proved to be in her life.
God challenges us to “Study to show ourselves approved unto God….” This is of course a far different type of learning process in the spiritual realm and one that will have eternal consequences. We are to be workers who do not need to be ashamed and who correctly handle the word of truth.
For the last 3 years I have been involved in post-secondary theological training at Toronto Baptist Seminary. Our motto is “Kata Christon” – according to Christ. Again this Tuesday I will register new students and welcome back others who are seeking to respond to God’s call in their own lives. God has preserved TBS for 80 years and a diversity of workers have passed through the halls and now continue to serve in a diversity of places.
I covet your prayers for TBS. May God be glorified in all we do. May He be praised and may He equip us to do His will.
By the way, check out our revamped website – www.tbs.edu We are seeking to use the technology available to us for God’s glory. This postcard I have posted in this blog is one my father picked up while visiting Jarvis Street Baptist in the fall of 1939 as he was facing the challenge of World War 2. In God’s plan, Dad was not permitted to go overseas but ended up working at Stelco in Hamilton during the war years.
Thanks for your partnership.
